ugh i think this really romanticizes their relationship in a really problematic way while also reinforcing damaging ideas about women and their role in relationship to men.

this whole idea that this relationship was her fortifying him, building him up, is — really one sided. Sure, maybe she did those things. But it just one dimensionalizes her because what about her role in the relationship? What did she want out of it for her herself? 

(and also side-eying the idea of ‘broken-ness’ in regards to people — it rubs me the wrong way)

what if she entered the relationship because she didn’t see a “broken” boy —

but saw that he was lonely and she was lonely and maybe, just maybe, they could find a space together where they wouldn’t be two lost souls

and instead she found distance — lies, childhood stories that didn’t quite match up, that lacked continuity

how sometimes she would look at him across the table and think, who the hell are you and why don’t you call your brother and tell him you’re about to realize everything you ever wanted

who does that?

it bothers me that the tags say: her love for sam winchester saved the world

when she doesn’t even feature in the Swan Song flashback that allowed Sam to unloosen his fist. Isn’t even mentioned in Chuck’s final chapter. 

The narrative treated Jessica shamefully. I wish we, as a fandom, would stop romanticizing it.
